Hear Me Roar: Profile of Elizabeth Reid

About 10 years ago, when I started writing about PNG and women, I got an encouraging email out of the blue from one Elizabeth Reid. I confess, I had to google her – only one of the most mighty (and modest) feminist wayfinders of the ’70s and beyond. She was Gough’s “supergirl” but has been and done so many things since. It’s been my great privilege to get to know her a bit, and to finally talk her into letting me write this piece. For the Woman’s Weekly, can you believe it! Strike one of a subversive campaign to lob a few grenades over the walls we have built around our “content”, and surprise a few folk with stories outside their usual frame. July Edition – Out Now! (Oh, Ita).
